Why walk to your gate when you can drive? Modobag is a brand new piece of luggage that doubles as a transport device. The revolutionary concept has a set of handle bars and can travel up to eight miles per hour.
That’s three times faster than walking pace – so you’ll easily beat the other passengers to boarding if you can handle the gawking along the way.
The company pitched the idea on Kickstarter last year but there wasn’t enough crowd funding to get it off the ground. But they’re back and better than ever on Indiegogo, already more than halfway to their $50 000 goal.
It’s not just the ride feature that sets this pocket rocket apart – it also comes with LED lights and a memory foam seat. There’s also exterior pockets for easy access and two USB ports for charging your devices, but remember not to text and… suitcase.
The motor is lithium battery charged with a range of six miles based on a rider weighing 180 pounds, but it can hold up to 260 pounds.
You’ll have to pack light if you want to take it for a spin – the small bag fits most airline’s carry-on size restrictions but weighs 19 pounds on its own.
There’s also GPS tracking and proximity alerts in case you want to check it in. The hi-tech trunk comes at a hefty price – if the campaign is successful the Modobag will cost $995 a pop.
