After month of fighting, Mariana Walker, a choir director Alvin Junior High School in Texas for 17 years lost her battle with cancer earlier this month. She died at home surrounded by her family, but not before she heard the legacy she left behind.
Her students gathered in front of her house and gave their all to perform one last concert for the beloved teacher. Walker’s family opened the door to her house so the music could pour in only minutes before she drew her last breath. I hope she passed knowing she touched so many young people and that she’ll never be forgotten. May she rest in peace.
